Position Description:

The principal purpose of the Indirect Procurement Manager is to oversee all activities related to Strategic Sourcing, Negotiation, Contracting, Stakeholder Alignment, and managing Supplier Relationship for the indirect categories. This role provides category leadership to achieve company objectives related to cost savings, working capital improvement, sustainability, and supply continuity. The Indirect Procurement Manager will be accountable for creating, facilitating, or participating in the development of sourcing strategies, executing the strategies, and monitoring and evaluating the success of the activities.


This position is responsible for strategic sourcing, negotiation, contracting, commodity budgeting, and supplier relationship management for Aramark Uniform Services (AUS) in the US and Canada. This position's primary focus will be to create and execute sourcing strategies, including conducting negotiations with suppliers, to ensure the lowest total cost of ownership while delivering continuity of supply, exceptional customer service, innovation, and sustainability. The Indirect Procurement Manager will frequently work with individuals from functional departments across the Company and will be responsible for communicating and building relationships with suppliers. Strong relationship skills and the ability to communicate with stakeholders across all levels, particularly senior leadership, will help this person to be successful in the role.


A successful candidate will be adept at analyzing complex data and developing unique insights that inform and direct fact-based decision-making. As the Indirect Procurement Manager will simultaneously work on several different initiatives, strong personal, and organizational skills to manage competing priorities independently are also important.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development of sourcing strategies and execution of sourcing activities leveraging 7 step strategic sourcing process for annual spend exceeding $100 million annually.
  • Delivering annual cost savings of 2-3%/ year for the managed spend.
  • Delivering working capital improvement by negotiating extended payment term with the vendors.
  • Work closely with the finance team to develop annual budgeting.
  • Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify the supply base to minimize risk, protect the continuity of supply, and exploit emerging opportunities that benefit AUS.
  • Analyzing spend data and other resources to identify savings opportunities and uncover additional insights.
  • Drive senior-level alignment and engagement with key Business partners for Procurement initiatives and programs (sourcing, implementation, compliance).
  • Negotiate, implement and manage contracts to ensure optimum costs and reliable supply, ensuring compliance with Procurement Policies and SOX rules.
  • Develop segmentation and resource allocation to deliver robust supplier relationship and performance management programs against service, quality, performance, and innovation objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a relationship with senior management of strategically important suppliers to support and enhance the supply strategies of AUS.
  • Supporting the creation and communication of standardized procurement policies and processes.
  • Managing and executing other procurement-related special projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Business or related field


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 3+ years of strategic Procurement (Indirect Categories Experience Highly Preferred)
  • Demonstrated understanding of strategic procurement processes, including strategic sourcing, negotiation and supplier relationship management.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Word.
  • Strong ability to analyze complex data to develop unique insights and effectively communicate findings to others.
  • Experience in creating and executing plans of action to accomplish organizational goals. Able to independently manage competing priorities while ensuring that all expectations are met or exceeded.
