Life Enrichment Director
White Horse Village (WHV), a premier, not-for-profit CCRC located in Newtown Square, PA is seeking a Director of Life Enrichment to work with residents and team members across the organization to offer a variety of engaging, culturally rich programming to the community. The director will oversee the ongoing development of programs/events that appeal to the diverse interests of residents in independent, personal care, memory support and skilled nursing.
Responsibilities include:
Supports the day-to-day operations of both the residential and health care LE teams- Works collaboratively with wellness, dining services and other teams to develop programming that features the domains of wellness
- Plans and coordinates large events/entertainment
- Fosters relationships with organizations that could provide culturally desired performing arts programming at WHV (i.e. schools, theatre groups etc.)
- Develop a robust calendar(s) of programs to include performing arts, cultural events, lectures, education, and interactive workshops
- Creatively develop and market performing arts calendar, in conjunction with Sales leadership, to external older adults that supports marketing efforts for potential new residents
- Oversee the department’s creation/distribution of weekly in-house newsletter
- Oversee and maintain digital signage related to resident groups and community programming/events
- Plan/schedule ongoing trips
- Collaborate with resident leadership and groups to plan and execute programs
- Understands audio-visual and related technology equipment and how to effectively use them to create an optimal guest experience.
- Ensures the coordination of all aspects of performances in the auditorium (or other venues).
- Coordinates volunteer programming
- Manages audio visual needs in conjunction with IT
- Participates in annual budget development and oversight
- Updates and develops policies/procedures and job descriptions for department
- Research and assist in development of person-centered/directed programming for health care residents
- Creatively assesses opportunities for enhanced programming/service offerings to the community
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in health related field, therapeutic recreation, performing arts, or communication desired- Experience in planning events, managing and developing creative programs/activities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Passion for working with older adults
- Prior experience in life enrichment preferred
- Experience working with audio/visual equipment/systems preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Power Point, Publisher
