Human Resources Specialist Job at CITY OF HARRISBURG
DEFINITION:
Performs Human Resources related duties at a professional level and assists the Director and Bureau on a variety of assignments which include, but are not limited to, the following functional areas: recruitment, background information process, new employee orientations, seasonal hiring, federal and state compliance. The Human Resources Specialist is expected to exercise good judgment and have good knowledge of all City personnel policies and procedures. Employee receives assignments orally and in writing from the Director. Employee assumes other duties in the absence of the Confidential Secretary. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Human Resources. This is a management, FLSA-exempt position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or closely related field with two years of experience in the area of personnel/human resources; or completion of college courses in personnel or public administration with three to five years of experience in the area of personnel/human resources; or any combination of training and experience which provides the knowledge and abilities outlined herein. Previous work experience in a unionized environment preferred. Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License, Class C or equivalent is required.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
