SUMMARY & ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES of the Human Resources Assistant:
Providing administrative support to multiple areas within the HR Department.
- Proficient in the use of office equipment such as computer systems, photocopier/printer and fax machine.
- Under direct supervision, responsibilities entail performing a variety of specialized clerical duties requiring knowledge of Human Resource operations.
- Essential role of maintaining records, preparing a variety of complex documents and carrying out secretarial functions to support human resources policy and procedures.
- Maintain various logs and other record-keeping systems related to assigned functions.
- Reception duties related to answering phones, responding to inquiries, forwarding calls/messages as appropriate.
- Perform day to day-human resource task, such as filing and other duties as required.
- Assists in the orientation of new hires by providing orientation information packets and reviewing relevant information with the new employees.
- Documents human resources actions by processing transactions, reports, logs and spreadsheets.
- Enters and extracts data to and from ADP.
- Prepares invoices and payment related to department expenses.
- Maintains confidentiality concerning personnel actions/issues, legal actions, terminations, non-renewal documents, and organizational plans.
- Other duties may be assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Strong Written and Verbal communication skills
- High level knowledge of HRIS, MS Word and Excel
- Able to exercise initiative and independent judgment.
- Able to maintain confidential information.
- Able to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Solid problem-solving and business acumen skills.
- Able to speak, write and read the English language.

- Teamwork
- Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines.
EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree from college or university in Human Resources, Human Services, Business Administration, or related degree with 2 years functional HR experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
