Job Objective:

We currently seek a Human Resources Manager to support our growing companies. This position will report to the Owners and provide office management support as needed. The ideal candidate will be organized, skilled at communication, and passionate about employee development. This position has the rare opportunity to build a team with passion for excellence. Our group of companies serve several different types of customers across three main business lines. We have approximately 30 employees in two businesses Phenix Salon Suites (Operates in NY, NJ & CT) and Rev (a digital document company). The Aqua-Tots NJ team opened their first location in November 2021 with an operating staff of 65-70 employees, and over the next 3 years will grow to 5 or more locations with a team of approximately 250+. This position will be substantially remote, but involve regular work days (3-5 monthly) at the office in Warwick, NY and routine presence at NJ Swim School locations (5-8 monthly).

Skills and Qualifications:

• Lead with the hiring process, collect and maintain employee records
• Administer payroll, manage Paid Time Off accrual and employee requests
• Collaborate with leadership to draft company policies and procedures, and revise Employee Handbook as needed
• Manage benefit and retirement programs, including eligibility and enrollment
• Analyze procedures to suggest improvements and resolve deficiencies
• Identify and coordinate safety and harassment trainings for compliance, as well as implement new company, local, state and Federal policies as needed
• Lead employee engagement initiatives to promote retention and happiness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Approachable and compassionate demeanor, with professional discretion
• Flexible attitude to work situations

Job Description:

• Overseeing hiring process, which includes coordinating job posts, reviewing resumes, performing reference checks, and conducting first interviews
• Preparing or updating employment records related to hiring, transferring, promoting, and terminating through company HR platform
• Maintain electronic employee files, initiate drug and background screenings, and conduct routine file audits
• Explaining human resources policies, procedures, laws, and standards to new and existing employees
• Ensuring new hire paperwork is completed and processed
• Knowledge of New Jersey State and Federal regulations related to human resources
• Previous experience developing content and training staff
• Proficiency with Google Suite, especially Google Drive and Calendar; experience with payroll processing service
• The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in an applicable field, with 2 – 4 years in a Human Resources role
• Experience in child services, entertainment or service industry with experience managing a young workforce a plus
• Work with Aqua-Tots Swim Schools corporate level to execute employee engagement,recruiting, and retention initiatives.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
