Job Summary:
The Human Resources Manager provides management and oversight for benefits, compensation, and payroll administration to support the business achieving operating goals and long-term strategic objectives. The incumbent will provide solutions to business issues utilizing contemporary data and analytics, HR tools and systems and provide solutions that deliver the highest level of service for Gulfport Energy employees. The HR Manager will lead or support the design, development, implementation and administration of competitive and legally compliant compensation and benefit and work-life programs.

This position will monitor human resources processes and activities that utilize Gulfport’s Workday HRIS to ensure vendor file feeds and integrations, employee records administration and related processes are working as optimally as possible and are in alignment with the Company’s overall strategic objective and vision of supporting our employee experience.

Primary Responsibilities:
Compensation/Benefits/Payroll/HRIS

  • Prepare proactive analysis and recommendations on activities such as incentive plans and processing, executive compensation reporting, stock administration and applicable tax reporting, merit process administration and overall compensation structure activities
  • Prepare and execute benefits documentation, plan documents, benefit agreements and insurance policies. Instruct insurance carriers, trustees, and other external administrative agencies to affect changes in benefits program. Conduct open-enrollment meetings and configure HRIS with enrollment information
  • Maintains ownership of key HR business processes and relevant SOX controls and develops and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs) with internal controls for programs such as EEO-1 and AAP reporting, Employee onboarding and new hire set-up, benefits annual open enrollment and other key health and welfare processes
  • Provide oversight of the bi-weekly payroll process and ongoing vendor management of OneSource Virtual (OSV) and Workday payroll services to ensure the payroll process is completed timely and without incident
  • Conduct job analysis and evaluate jobs against internal data and external market data for validity and provide guidance for employees, managers, and HR
  • Ensure compensation related programs are compliant with various related compensation labor laws and regulations. Keep up with best practices and ensure the company is aligned with current and relevant practices to our compensation programs
  • Plan, develop and evaluate existing company benefits with those of other employers by analyzing industry surveys and other sources of benchmark data and recommend changes for new plans or modify existing plans to maintain the company's competitive position in the labor market.
  • Ensure company compliance with provisions of Employee Retirement Income Security Act and the Affordable Care Act and supervise preparation of reports, applications, forms and returns required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies, such as Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, insurance commissioners, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Handle escalated benefits and leave of absence inquiries and concerns to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution and provide oversight of maintenance of enrollment and claims records for all benefits and leave of absence plans
  • Participate in case management/ticketing review with all vendor (OSV, Workday, etc.) ticketing systems related to the HRIS/payroll/ benefits administration process

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leadership with excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Self-directed, diligent, and a willingness to be a hands-on, working leader with strong communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated people leadership and project management skills in a team setting with a focus on rapport-building and listening skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point).

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, HR or related field is strongly preferred
  • Relevant HR certification(s) preferred
  • Typically requires 8 years of HR experience that includes significant experience leading or managing at least one function (Employee Relations, Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, etc.)
  • Project management leadership experience required with advanced knowledge of corporate HR operations processes and a solid understanding of HRIS tools and related systems (preference given to previous experience with Workday)
  • Advanced knowledge of employment laws, HR market trends, and approaches to HR practices (i.e., work/life policy, compensation, team facilitation, organizational development)

Physical Requirements/Demands:
Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. The ability to use a computer, tablet, or smart phone for extended periods of time. Basic use of office equipment such as copier and fax machines. Ability to lift to 10 pounds occasionally.

This job operates in a professional office environment.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, salaried position. Days and hours of work will vary based on the needs of the company. Gulfport Energy offers a hybrid work schedule and remote work may be available based on the candidate.

Travel:
Occasional local and out of town travel is expected for this position
