HSE Coordinator Job at DAYBROOK FISHERIES, INC.
Job Summary:
The Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Coordinator is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operations of HSE department and contributing to the application of effective HSE management by providing technical support, HSE task management, and support for projects. The expected results are compliance with the requirements of the regulatory agencies in areas where Daybrook Fisheries operates. The role will serve under the HSE Manager and provides opportunities to gain extensive HSE knowledge as well as operation knowledge of the business.
General Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Compliance
- Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety and Environmental management.
- Maintain relevant HSE logs and documentation.
- Assist in the compliance of applicable laws and regulations.
- Prepare applicable HSE reports as necessary.
- Provide assistance and advice on HSE issues to make recommendations to facility management.
- Perform water discharge sampling
- Assist in emergency response and provide first aid treatment
- Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors.
Safety Culture
- Assist in the development and presentation of relevant HSE training
- Observe HSE regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel.
- Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our customers and regulatory agencies.
- Perform other work related tasks as required as assigned
- Comply with all HSE procedures and policies.
Risk Management
- Responsible for filing first report of injury for all workers comp injuries
- Participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis
- Walk the facility on a regular basis to establish HSE presence and provide support.
- Perform facility HSE Inspections
- Ability to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE
- Oversee Behavior Based / Observation Safety Programs.
- Help develop Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) • Follow Fall Protection program, inspect all fall protection equipment and maintain inspection records
- Assist in administering and maintaining compliance programs such as LOTO, Hazard Communication, EAP, Hearing Conservation, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, BBP, etc.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by HSE manager and Safety Manager.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- BA or BS from accredited university in a related field preferred. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and be computer literate.
- Combination of education and experience in an industrial environment may be considered.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willing to work different shifts
