HR Generalist Job at Western Mesquite Mines
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the HR Generalist manages employee relations issues to ensure fair and consistent actions by the Company. Provides HR knowledge across multiple specializations including recruiting, employee relations, compensation, compliance with state and federal Leaves, ADA, Workers’ Compensation, EEOC and HIPAA.
Essential Functions:
Serve as front-line point person for employee questions regarding policies, practices, programs and benefits; work with HR manager to resolve inquiries as appropriate
Oversee Workers’ Compensation program to ensure efficient handling of claims, keeping all levels of management informed of their progress to facilitate the injured worker’s earliest possible return to work.
Investigate employee complaints and make recommendations to help managers and supervisors resolve conflict and assist them with disciplinary matters.
Coordinate new employee onboarding and exiting employee separation processes.
Ensure compliance with EEOC, ADA, FMLA, CFRA, FLSA, HIPAA and Workers’ Compensation regulations, and annual EEO-1 reporting
Conduct recruitment effort for exempt and non-exempt personnel and contracted temporary employees; write and place advertisements.
Work with recruiters to evaluate applicant qualifications, forward qualified candidates to hiring manager and conduct prescreening interviews.
Draft offer letters, action forms, coordinate background screening, and collect documents from selected candidates.
Assist with annual Performance Reviews, Bonus and merit processes.
Review position descriptions, analyze duties and responsibilities for FLSA classification purposes.
Work with department managers and supervisors to develop and continually update job descriptions.
Perform benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees.
Maintain personnel records, forms, and related documents and filing.
Perform general human resources administrative tasks such as report generation, entering and maintaining data in the Census, and composing correspondence.
Assist with the development and implementation of employee training programs.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
1-2+ years of human resources experience in an HR generalist role
Skills Required:
Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures with HR Generalist knowledge including applicable state and federal laws.
Proficient in MS Office software programs, i.e., Excel, Word, Power Point.
Direct and diplomatic communication style.
High energy; execute work with sense of urgency when necessary and the good judgment, prioritization and communication skills necessary to identify which tasks require urgency.
Effective listener; ability to guide conversations in tense situations towards effective resolution.
Flexible and adaptive.
The salary range for this position is from $80,000 annual to $110,000 annual.
