Position Description: This is specialized work as a Human Resources Generalist located in an office setting. Employee will work fairly independently and may have responsibilities in any or all of the following functional areas: Employee Relations, Personnel Records Management, HR Communications, Recruitment and support. Employee will work with the Chief of Human Development and assist in implementing and maintaining a comprehensive personnel program. Employee’s duties are performed in accordance with standard policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Responsibilities:
1. Employee Relations: Assists in maintaining employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
2. May maintain records and processes forms; explains a variety of policies and procedures to new, current, and terminating employees.
3. Work closely with hiring managers, scheduling interviews, and completing the preemployment process.
4. Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, wages, and opportunities for promotion.
5. Requests and processes employee evaluations and notifies supervisors of submission dates.
6. Creates and compiles all new employee files ensuring all required documents are contained in files.
7. Assist with posting vacancy announcements and recruiting needs.
8. Assist with review of resumes for qualification.
9. Complete HR assigned tickets in Omega System
10. Processes and maintains case files and correspondence regarding hearings, investigations and court cases.
11. Process requests for employment and salary verifications for previous and current staff.
12. Processes all incoming mail and distributes to appropriate staff.
13. Organize, compile, update company personnel records and documentation with all personnel changes
14. Manage and update Human Resources databases
15. Assist with New Employee Orientation
16. Maintains strict confidentiality of departmental issues and documentation.
17. Arrange staff meetings, take minutes, prepare agendas and schedule appointments as needed.
Education/Experience: Minimum Training and Experience Requirements - Graduation from high school and four years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical work including at least one year of experience in administering a personnel program(s) for a work unit or in a personnel office, preferably related to the area assigned to the position; or graduation from a four year college or university; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in a business environment.
