Summary:


Benefits Analyst is responsible for providing a broad range of administrative support related to the Human Resources Department. Assists with the administration of retirement and health and welfare employee benefit programs. Assures compliance with all applicable state and federal regulation. Compiles, and analyzes basic data such as invoice variance reports, and 401k contribution files. Provides benefit plan interpretation, guidance and counsel to employees, HRIS representatives, and managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Administrative
Functions:


1. Provides guidance and counsel to employees, HRIS representatives, and managers on the requirements and provisions of benefit programs and assist with the resolution of potential problems.

2. Develops, conducts and participates in a variety of presentations to inform and educate management and employees about changes to benefit plans, administrative practices and legislated requirements and programs.

3. Follows processes and procedures to capture and maintain consistent and accurate benefit related data.

4. Monitors plan limits, eligibility and other restrictions on plan participation to ensure compliance with both plan provisions and government requirements.

5. Process terminated employee files as assigned. Ensuring COBRA files are audited timely to ensure compliance.

6. Screens and directs incoming calls, faxes, Hrhelpdesk tickets and correspondence.

7. Executes department processes as assigned.

8. Provides general administrative support.

9. Assembles and distributes new hire benefits information to new employees and management.

10. Drafts routine correspondence, memos, minutes, policies, and procedures as directed.

11. Produces monthly reports as assigned.

12. Maintains full confidentiality of all employees as well as company records.

13. Create and manage payroll correction files.

14. Review and resolve weekly carrier errors, enrollments, and terminations reports.

15. Assist with invoice billing resolutions.

16. Other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


Minimum
Qualifications:

1. Diploma from an approved High School or GED Equivalent.

2. Intermediate knowledge of Human Resources functions to include Compensation, Benefits, Training, Leaves of Absence, Unemployment, Administration, Workers Compensation and Recruitment

3. An associated degree and one year of Human Resources experience, OR

4. A bachelor’s degree in Business or the Human Resources field preferred, OR

5. Three years of Human Resources experience, OR

6. Any similar combination of education and experience
Special Conditions of Employment:

1. All staff that is presently working within a clinic is required to have a Current and Valid CPR and First Aide certification on file with the Human Resources Department. This is for clinical and administrative staff. This new license requirement is mandatory for continued employment, CPR and First Aide certification must be obtained through the American Heart Association. Internet certificates do not comply and for this reason are not valid.

3. Knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel (Intermediate to advanced), Word, Power Point, Pay-Net, etc.

4. Ability to present in front of groups both large and small.

7. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all during the course of work.


Physical
and Mental Requirements:

1. Able to lift/move up to 20 pounds, move from place to place, stand, and sit for long periods of time.
2. Ability to do math, organize and prioritize workload, work effectively and efficiently under stress.

3. Ability to supervise, multitask, understand, and follow instructions.

4. Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, and understand English.
