JOB SUMMARY:

The Host is responsible for welcoming guests in a warm and friendly manner using the ‘10/5’ rule. Seat guests and manage the seating chart using proper seating rotation among the servers. Monitor restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow. Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner. Answer the phone within three rings, using the standard phone script.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED; or equivalent.
• Applicants must possess a strong dedication toward learning and motivation to progress in a restaurant dining environment.
• Possess effective communication skills, positive attitude, and professionalism.
• Responsive to constructive feedback from Chefs, Managers and/or staff.

SOFT SKILLS NEEDED(necessary personal attributes):

• Clear communication and listening skills
• Empathy, conflict resolution and a positive attitude
• Top-tier time management, multitasking, and situational awareness skills
• Overall vibe of friendliness, optimism, enthusiasm, and teamwork

TECHNICAL SKILLS NEEDED:

• Basic math and arithmetic skills
• Phone communication and rapport building
• POS system knowledge
• Proper cash handling

COMPENSATION: $14-$16+ per hour plus tips. Wage negotiable dependent on experience and/or overall personal characteristics. This is a full time position that includes benefits.

INTERVIEW PROCESS: 2 interviews total: 1st interview will be via Video Call; 2nd interview will be in-person at Ala Moana. 3rd interview may be requested.
