The Quality Assurance and QAPI nurse is responsible for ensuring that Summit Home Health and Hospice are complying with the ACHC standards, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) conditions of participation and other regulatory licensures requirements. This nurse will assist the Vice President of Clinical Operations and other supervisory hospice personnel in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of in-services, continuing education programs, the QAPI program, and the agency’s survey readiness.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Review documentation to identify areas which may have fallen out of compliance and communicates findings and recommendations
- Tracks and trends information for QAPI (Quality Assurance Performance Improvement) reporting on a quarterly basis and prepares and leads quarterly QAPI meetings
- Develops Plan of Correction and/or PIP (performance improvement plan) to bring area to compliance.
- Performs chart audits as a written into plan of correction and/or PIP.
- Assists the Hospice and Home Health Directors to prepare for survey, identifying areas of risk and develop plan to bring into compliance
- Provides education about the QAPI program.
- Assists with policy maintenance and revisions as assigned.
- Provides education, guidance, and assistance on the Emergency Preparedness Program to agency leadership
- Assists in the orientation of new employees.
Position Qualifications
- Registered or licensed nurse with current unencumbered licensure
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Previous experience in hospice and home health setting of at least 3 years
- Experience in a Quality Assurance role of at least a year
- Familiar with CMS regulations
- Demonstrates excellent observation, verbal, and written communication skills
- Understanding of the QAPI process
- Knowledge of AXXESS EHR preferred

Pay: $36.00 - $39.00 per hour
