Position Overview:
The Hedge Desk Lead (internal title: Sr. Analyst, Hedge Desk) will serve as a business partner and subject matter expert to commercial teams, company point person to all exchanges and FCMs, and oversee all derivative trading, trade capture, and margin account reconciliations. The role reports directly to the Risk Department to ensure a high level of compliance and adherence is maintained to regulatory agencies, company policy, and procedures. The Hedge Desk Lead will also conduct various analyses, drive process improvement, and technology initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead daily position and equity margin account reconciliations
Identify, resolve, and communicate all variances in a timely manner
Act as Business Partner and subject matter expert regarding all cycles of futures and options contracts
Be Scoular’s liaison to all futures clearing merchants and exchanges for a variety of responsibilities ranging from maintaining relationships to audits and daily activities
Support internal controls and risk framework by managing user access to trading platforms, trading accounts, and reporting
Supervise all derivatives trading and EFPs to ensure deals are properly accounted for in trading and risk systems
Ensure compliance with all exchanges, regulatory agencies, and internal policies and procedures
Perform various analyses of hedge desk statistics and derivative tradin
Drive hedge desk process improvement, technology initiatives, and other industry best practices
Resolve issues independently and timely while escalating larger and complex issues

Requirements
Minimum
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business Administration preferred
Minimum 5 years work experience preferred
In-depth understanding of commodity, financial, or forex markets and instruments including futures and options
Strong technical and mathematical skills with the ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment
Experience with trading systems, trade transactions, and their administration
Ability to think critically, research, and solve problems independently
Ability to analyze data and build ad-hoc reports in Excel
Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide effective customer service to various organization areas and build strong working relationships across the organization
Little to no travel required
