A valid Commercial Driver's License is preferred for this position but not required. The position available consists of working in the construction industry providing specialized repair and maintenance of heavy equipment for Pauley Construction. Travel is required but typically within the work area to assist on site with field crews. Overview:
Position available consists of working in the construction industry providing specialized repair and maintenance of heavy equipment for Pauley Construction. Travel is required but typically within the work area to assist on site with field crews. Work schedules are typically 4 days per week, 10 hours per day. Position requires heavy lifting, pulling, placing, standing and sitting, as required by Pauley Construction, Inc.
Qualifications:

Responsibilities:

  • Working knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance - both diesel and gas
  • Experience/working knowledge in auto, diesel, small engine and heavy equipment repair
  • Keep appropriate documentation as needed
  • Basic ability to use small tools/hand tools
  • Perform routine oil changes on equipment as needed
  • Chancing belts and hoses
  • Keep appropriate maintenance records
  • Repairing or adjusting parts as needed
  • Working knowledge of body damage repairs
  • General knowledge of engine repair
  • Servicing repairs of transmissions
  • Repairing electrical systems
  • Repairing suspension and brake systems
  • Troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of welding and fabricating
  • Knowledge of air conditioning systems
  • Must have a complete set of tools
  • Must be able to maintain on site area files to ensure DOT compliance

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in the field or a related area
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License and Medical Card required within 90 days of hire.
  • Automotive Service Excellence Certified or the ability to get ASE certified.
  • Must be punctual
  • Appropriate apparel required
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with other employees and vendors
  • Be available to work overtime and emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Maintain a positive attitude with team and have good work ethics.
  • Maintain good public relations (interact with the public in a courteous manner)
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work
  • Must have a complete set of tools
  • Must be able to multi task, be patient, and helpful
  • Must have a good working relationship with field and managers
  • Must be able to pass company drug screen and background process
  • Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low. The employee may be standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding or stooping
  • The noise level in the work environment for this position is moderate.
  • Employees performing functions of this position are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions which can include but is not limited to: extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as rain, snow, sleet and dust as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog.
  • Employees performing these job functions are required to lift or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Employees in this job classification may be exposed to dust, fumes or other airborne pathogens.
  • Employees may be exposed to toxic or corrosive chemicals as well as moving machinery parts and pieces.
  • Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include but are not limited to: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus potentially near and/or far as needed

Pay Range: The Heavy Equipment Drill Mechanic pay range is $28.00 - $36.00 / hourly depending on experience.
