Health Equity Department Programming & Supervision

- Give direction to the development of new and innovative programs which focus on promoting good health, strengthening the family unit, and establishing positive values
- Work across diverse communities and build strong partnerships, with experience in community organizing and working across public and private sectors.
- Develop materials necessary to promote all evidence-based programs, while following the YMCA Graphic Standards.
- Hold staff accountable for participant tracking, quality, education, certifications, and following all procedures that are part of their performance.
- Maintain a high quality of professionalism and guidance to the intake sessions with members and clients helping to ensure their success in YMCA programing.
- Direct staff to uphold preventative maintenance program ensuring all standards are met.
- Teach and supervise class when substitute is unavailable.
- Organize Health Fair, staffing, equipment, program information, special contactors, presentations, etc.
- Supervise and staff corporation on- site classes as needed for evidence-based programing.

- Results Oriented – ability to hold staff accountable for high-quality results using a formal process to measure progress; conduct prototypes to support the launching of program and activities; provide others with framework for making decisions; develop, plan, and manage best practices through engagement of team; cultivate relationships to support fundraising; effectively create and manage budgets
- Develop promotional plan for program areas.
- Responsible to developing marketing concepts for evidence-based programing and intake outreach.
- Responsible for responding to problems and concerns of members and make changes when necessary.
- Produce monthly articles for the membership newsletter emphasizing the importance of EBI programing to be distributed to members and corporations.
- Ethical Behavior – ability to understand ethical behavior and business practices, and ensure that own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization; maintain a work ethic that holds a high standard to organizational accountability
- Responsible for all development of the Department budget
- Responsible for monthly tracking of revenue and expenses for the Department
- Take full responsibility for all purchases, tracking, and monitoring of the Department
- Follow guidelines and expectations while taking an active role in United Way and other Fundraising Events.
- Recruit volunteers and follow all expectations set forth in the annual Campaign
- Serve as a member of the branch leadership team and the Health and Wellness team.
- Community oriented - ability to model and teach YMCA values; champion inclusion activities, strategies, and initiatives; ensure high-level services that differentiate YMCA from other providers; provide volunteers with orientation, training, development, and recognition
- Serve as a Cause Driven Leader and take CDLOD shift at an assigned YMCA location.
- Be open and willing to perform other tasks asked of you.
- General Experience and Abilities - ability to demonstrate understanding of program development and management; effective and efficient time management; demonstrate capacity for managing and leading people; excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and coaching skills, and organizational skills; ability to overcome resistance to leadership and take unpopular stands when necessary; ability to exemplify a “Y-Voice” that demonstrates determination, genuine concern, welcoming attitude, hopefulness and a nurturing spirit.
