POSITION SUMMARY
Lead a team of PM II & III and be a focal point for customer communications with the goal of meeting customer needs, ensuring timely and complete job information; and optimizing order profitability.
POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Focal point for customer communications and internal tie off's with cross functions.
  • Responsible for managing team of PM’s for projects thru installation, including mock-ups and testing as required.
    Identify individual customer preferences working with each customer to develop and maintain a mutually beneficial and valued relationship.
  • Secure and communicate job information to ensure an effective and focused job through timely information and clarity of scope.
  • In conjunction with scheduling, establish, maintain, and communicate project schedules balancing customer needs and our capabilities.
  • Monitor key project milestones for schedule completion and scope management.
  • Monitor job site status and field issues resulting from Wausau Window and Wall Systems areas of responsibility.
  • Effectively manage the project schedule and minimize costs.
  • Understand design capabilities as it relates to specification interpretation, die design, and manufacturing and engineering limitation and procedures.
  • Manage job scope and financial results in a timely fashion for: potential adds, flow of payment, control of costs, performance to bid, deducts and resolution of back charges.
  • Lead a team of Project Managers using common processes.
  • Enable the system of metrics to track Customer Satisfaction, Quality, Delivery and Costs for all projects to help lead and guide the PM team.
  • Help provide and manage data analytics on projects.
  • Be the 'glue' to work with engineering managers, supply chain managers, operations managers and estimating managers to develop processes to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Enable win-win relationships with external and internal customers.
  • Facilitate Project reviews on critical projects through clear templates and structure in process.
  • Be the point relationship enabler internally and externally on projects for issues to help PM resolve.
  • Keep management informed of significant problems in the area of customer satisfaction, cost over-run, back charges or any other area where significant potential impact on the business, job, or customer relationship is possible and document on required forms.
  • Ability to read and understand contract documents (ie. purchase orders, specifications, architectural and structural drawings.)
  • Maintain open communications both internal and external to keep projects flowing at optimum success.
  • Exercise negotiating skills in dealing with PAR's, back charges, schedule changes, and approvals while adapting to changing conditions throughout the process.
  • Compile and submit complete submittal packages including but not limited to: drawings, structural calcs, test reports, product data, LEED information, etc.)
    Understand LEED requirements.
  • Frequent travel may be required to meet with necessary parties in securing information, approvals, coordination, field measuring, mock ups or addressing issues that may arise on projects.
  • Negotiate and finalize field back charges with the customer and process "Credit Request Forms" as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or a minimum of an Associate degree in a design or engineering related field. Minimum 5 - 7 years working with Wausau Window and Wall Systems' products or similar building products industry. Understanding or experience in AutoCAD. PMP and or MBA a plus.
  • Cross functional Kaizen/A3 experience required in directly and indirectly influencing a team
  • KPI development experience required
  • Cross functional engagement experience required
  • Project Management/Cost/Budgeting experience required.
  • Presentation skills required
  • Customer interface skills - written and spoken required.
  • Ability to engage cross functions in a structured data based manner and build relationships to solve problems required.
  • Coaching/Teaching mentality required to evolve the Project Management office
SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
  • Understanding or experience in AutoCAD
  • ERP software
  • CTO Pro/Shop View
  • Thorough knowledge of Wausau Window and Wall Systems products and processes, or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate and develop installation requirements and coordinate with other trades.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role has direct reports that include Project Managers
WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Mostly an office environment with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor. The noise levels in the work environment are usually moderate. Available for a moderate amount of travel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
