Group Home Manager - QP - Residential I/DD - Lincolnton, NC

Easterseals UCP, one of the largest non-profit service providers in North Carolina & Virginia, seeks a compassionate, caring, and dedicated Group Home Manager (Qualified Professional) for our I/DD residendtial group home in Lincolnton, NC where you will both guide and participate daily in providing support services for our clients living with developmental disabilities or mental health challenges.

What You’ll Do

Your care will make a huge difference in the lives of the people you will be helping. You will maintain a home-like environment and coordinate the schedules of Direct Service Providers (DSPs) as medically indicated by the home’s residents. You’ll encourage an appropriate family environment, ensure engagement with residents during activities while supporting them in learning and being independent in the home. You’ll monitor progress/client outcomes against plans to ensure their days are enjoyable and meaningful as well as maintain proper documentation and reporting to ensure government compliance requirements are met. You will also:

  • Provide supervision and performance feedback for DSPs, ensuring all training requirements are met, as well as promoting team and employee interactions and communications.
  • Maintain awareness of successes, problems and general attitudes of the individuals, their employers, the community, and develop/implement goals to assist in improvement as needed
  • Serve as primary first shift staff; participate in medical appointments, communicating resident’s needs to professionals and bringing necessary information back to other residential staff to ensure changes and medical orders are implemented
  • Assist with ensuring prescriptions are filled and with dispensation of medication as needed, in coordination and collaboration with RNs
  • Interview, hire, and supervise DSP positions in collaboration with HR and your Program Manager.

What We’re Looking For

To join our team, you must have a willingness to provide care in a group home setting, be a team player, and willing to take and successfully complete a background check. We also require:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human services field
  • Two years of full-time, pre- or post-bachelor's degree accumulated human services field experience to be credentialed as a QP
  • Two years administrative/supervisory experience with ability to understand budgets and financial reports
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to be insured by ESUCP’s auto insurance
  • Prior experience working in residential services and/or working with individuals with intellectual and development disabilities preferred
