Greeter Position for The General Store
General Summary
The Greeter is responsible for providing a warm and friendly greeting to each customer as they enter and exit the store. The greeter also helps give customers directions for items / departments in the store. The greeter also serves as a theft deterrent for potential shoplifters by watching and monitoring what customers are bringing in or exiting with.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Customer Service

• Project a positive representation.
• Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers by name, when possible, when they are leaving the store.
• Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
• Guide customers to checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
• Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively, as needed.
• Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.
• Continually build product knowledge base and possess the ability to assist customers with store layout and product location.
• Assist in pricing, stocking, marking and bagging of merchandise, as needed.
• Keep the interior and exterior of the building entrances clean and safe at all times.
• Retrieve and maintain shopping carts and hand carry baskets.

Front End Appearance and Upkeep

• Keep the front end, including checkout areas and entrance doors neat and clean at all times. Face and dust front end.
• Ensure fresh ads are stocked in the ad stand at all times.
• Inform management when merchandise returns need to be put away.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Starting Pay: $15.74 / Hour
