JOB SUMMARY:

Produce product by preparing and packaging cooked product for shipment with a safety –minded attitude that maintains and enhances a safety culture for the benefit of the Company and its employees.

DEPARTMENT: OWM (Sausage/Deli Stick)

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 
  Load bulk meat logs (up to 30 pounds) into meat slicer at required production frequency levels.
• Cutdown requires (lifting up to 45 pounds).
• Perform random re-weight checks of sliced meat product.
• Review and inspect product.
• Place pre-determined amount of sliced meat products into packaging.
• Reject meat product that does not meet specifications.
• Place required number of packages into box.
• Inspect individual packages for proper quality specifications at a rate of 21 – 40 units per minute.
• Ensure that boxes are filled per required levels.
• Place completed boxes on pallet ensuring proper pallet configuration.
• Place empty pallet into position for proper stocking.
• Always maintain areas in a clean and sanitary manner.
• Inspect equipment for sanitary conditions.
• Inspect product for quality and any signs of foreign material contamination.
• Contribute to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Use of Chemicals and proper chemical hazards training required.
• Operation of basic manufacturing equipment (MagCutter).
• Lockout / Tagout certification / training required.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• 
  Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less.
• Must be able to stand for 8-9 hours per day.
• Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat as needed for responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
• Cutdown requires (lifting up to 45 pounds).
• Documenting of required production records.
• Follow GDP requirements (Good Documentation Practices).
• Must have good hand eye coordination.
• Must be able to work in a high-speed environment.
• Must be able to work 40 hours or more per week.
• Must be able to work mandatory overtime if necessary, including weekends.
• Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
