Mechanical Assembler - Build and Assemble
Location: St Charles, MO
Pay: $16 - $17/hr
Position Type: Contract-to-hire
Duration: 6 month contract-to-hire
Description:
Are you handy and enjoy putting things together? Do you enjoy building things following instructions?
We are seeking Assemblers that enjoy putting things together. The Assembler is responsible for assembling and testing company products. This position may specialize in particular products or processes. Additionally, this position follows all work area related processes and procedures to assemble units, utilizing hand tools, small power equipment, and other special equipment/fixtures. Finally, this position is required to complete paperwork fully, accurately, and timely and also practice good housekeeping.
Responsibilities:
- Adheres to product quality standards, and standard operating procedures.
- Tests print engines and completes required documentation into computer database.
- Provide support and feedback to lead and engineering team.
- Complete basic troubleshooting.
- Prepares equipment for shipping.
- Assembles, disassembles, and cleans a wide range of products, using drawings, work instructions, and tests to performance specifications.
- Completes required documentation.
- Utilizes the inventory management System-Kanban, cycle counting, physical inventory.
- Performs material, and chemical handling, receiving, and stocking of materials and sales coordination.
- Adheres to facility safety and health requirements; wears prescribed PPE.
- Maintains work area, tools and/or equipment, and machines.
- Maintains focus on continuous improvement by applying 80/20, PLS, and USA principles/techniques and makes process improvement recommendations to management.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma (or GED) required.
- One (1) year manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to work on a team and independently.
- Ability to inspect and manipulate small and delicate items using a variety of tools.
- Good manufacturing operations knowledge and practices.
- Computer experience with knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to maintain high productivity on repetitive tasks while working in a fast-paced environment.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently (34% - 66%) be required to reach above shoulder and constantly (67% - 100%) be required to Twist/Turn, Reach Outward, Handle/Manipulate items, Stand, Walk, Grasp, and type. They will occasionally (1% - 33%) be required to crawl, Sit, Bend, and squat.
- The employee must carry up to 10 pounds constantly, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally and push and pull up to 10 pounds constantly, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include concentrated attention, close vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to bring object into sharp focus.
