The Front Desk Billing/Insurance Coordinator is responsible for verifying insurance, collecting all necessary prior authorizations and referrals, managing communication and coordinating with our billing service. Essential duties listed below.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Verify insurance eligibility, copays, coinsurance and deductibles
2. Obtain all prior authorizations or precertifications, as well as any necessary referrals.
3. Speaking with patients on the phone, scheduling patient exams and appointments, checking patients out and posting charges.
4. Identifies and resolves patient billing complaints.
5. Prepares, reviews and sends patient statements.
6. Manages accounts receivable, makes calls on balances due and also prepares information for the collection agency.
7. Performs various collection actions including contacting patients by phone, correcting and resubmitting claims to third party payers.
8. Processes payments from insurance companies and prepares a daily deposit.
9. Auditing charts for proper charges, billing and coding.
10. Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
11. Participates in educational activities and attends monthly staff meetings.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
