Foster Care Recruiter

TFI Oklahoma is a private not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides experience, compassion, quality services and care for the children and families. We hold Foster Care Recruitment Contracts with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) throughout most of the State of Oklahoma. As a partner, with DHS, we help support families throughout the foster care approval process, during placement and care of children in their homes, and help provide an understanding of the child welfare system.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred. High School diploma/G.E.D. required with at least one year experience in general office duties.

Valid driver’s license and meet agency underwriting standards.

As a Foster Care Recruiter, you will be directly responsible for the initial phase of the Agency’s recruitment process for foster care families. Work in concert with department staff to develop staff to develop effective recruitment strategies and initiatives and is an integral player in the execution. Performs administrative functions for the office assigned. Performs the following duties directly.

  • Directly responsible for the Agency’s foster care family recruitment process.
  • Works in concert with departmental staff to develop effective recruitment strategies and initiatives and is an integral player in their execution.
  • Develops and distributes recruitment packages to individuals interested in becoming foster care families with the Agency.
  • Assists in foster care family recruitment and retention efforts to include: advertising, arranging meetings, mailings, and miscellaneous actions.
  • Represents the Agency at meetings pertaining to foster care provider activities and recruitment initiatives.
  • Assists in developing, coordinating, and producing newsletters, fliers, advertisements, brochures, and other information materials.
  • Ensures compliance with Corporate and Program Policies and Procedures.
  • Writes articles for Agency’s Between Families newsletter.
  • Files office correspondence and maintains currency and accuracy of files.
  • Answers the telephone and gives information to callers or routes call to appropriate person and places outgoing calls.
  • Greets visitors, ascertains nature or business and directs visitors to appropriate person.
  • Makes copies of correspondence and other printed material.
  • Will be required to drive personal or agency vehicle while transporting children or conducting agency business. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must meet agency underwriting standards while driving agency vehicles and/or transporting clients.
  • Refrains from assuming any duty that is unrelated to and/or interferes with the responsibilities of the position.
  • Advocates, promotes, and practices cultural sensitivity and responsiveness in all day-to-day interactions.
  • Develops, promotes, and practices teamwork in all activities.
