Responsible for supporting and safely executing the forklift operator activities for our lumber manufacturing facility.

1. Required to strictly adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.

2. Follow and receive both verbal and written communications such that orders are accurately loaded for shipment.

3. Perform daily inspections of forklift(s) as required by OSHA.

4. Properly stores inventory as per protocol.

5. Willingness to work outside.

6. Bands lumber packages as specified for storage or shipping.

7. Assist in keeping all lanes and storage areas clean and clear for traffic.

8. Perform other duties when assigned.

9. This position is classified as a SAFETY SENSITIVE job.

Skills and Qualification

• Excellent attendance record and communication skills.
• Minimum of 1 to 3 years previous experience operating forklifts or other heavy equipment.
• Ability to safely, efficiently, and courteously operate the forklift when loading/unloading trucks, kiln and or railcars, supporting the mill operations.
• The ability to communicate respectfully with members of the production, shipping, and maintenance teams.
• Post offer drug screen and background check required.

Working Conditions

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
• Prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, and kneeling.
• Required to climb, balance, and sit.
• May lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• Exposure to a wide range of temperatures.
