Yuma Environmental is looking for several full-time, permanent, laborers, working at our waste consolidation/transfer stations in Yuma County, AZ.

Summary of Duties

• Opens, closes, stacks, moves, organizes waste containers as directed
• Loads and unloads trailers using forklifts, manual drum dollies, pallet jacks, or other equipment, and other conveyances, moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrow or hand truck, etc.
• Use a hand shovel and rake to keep yard level, mixing sludges or liquids, etc.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Previous forklift training a plus
• Knowledge of pumps, air compressor, and other industrial equipment is a plus

Work Schedule

• 40 hours per week. May be required to work overtime hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

Physical Demands

• Position consists of standing for long periods of time, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting containers weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently uses hands/fingers for handling, to work with such hand tools as outdoor tools, shovels, wrenches, screwdrivers, wire cutters, etc.

Work Environment

• Work is primarily performed outdoors, but may also be performed in a warehouse or on a truck dock. Work is often performed in adverse conditions including inclement weather such as high humidity, heat, cold, high wind, rain, and various local conditions.
• Employee may be exposed to sharp objects and may be exposed to some heat, loud noise, chemicals, and vibration. Use of personal protective equipment is provided and mandatory, where required.
