PotlatchDeltic is seeking applicants to fill a Forklift Operator position for the Gwinn Lumber Mill. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the kiln forklifts to control and manage green lumber from the mill, through the kiln, and back to the mill.

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $21.0889.

• Stages and positions green output stacks in the yard for smooth and efficient Kiln input.
• Retrieves stacked product from the stacker output and positions crossers (4”x4”x9’) to pile stacked lumber in three layers and repositions for kiln input.
• Assists the kiln operators with loading the kilns and rotating/turning the kiln stacks in and out of the kilns as needed.
• Maintains lumberyard organization and corrects improperly stacked bundles.
• Builds kiln charges according to the kiln operator instructions.
• Assists in kiln charge changes.
• Picks up loose and dropped boards from the backs of charges at the end of each shift.
• Performs quality assurance checks and charge identification.
• Monitors and facilitates proper maintenance and functionality of the kiln forklifts.
• Completes related paperwork.
• Transports lumber safely regardless of yard conditions.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Good attendance, work, and safety records.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to climb stairs and catwalks at elevated levels.
• Able to carry tools, bend, read gauges, and use radio.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be capable of working in hot, dusty, cold wet, dirty, confined working environment on occasion.
• Must be able to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Industrial or mobile equipment experience desired.
