Western State Hospital is currently seeking applicants for a full-time, Fiscal Assistant, Customer Service Clerk. Hours are 7:30 am-4pm. Daily Cashier duties and 2nd mailroom position working alternate weeks M-F in the afternoon.

The purpose of this position is to process and report Patient Fund and Local Fund transactions for Western State and Commonwealth Center for Children & Adolescents (CCCA) The position is responsible for receipting and disbursing cash, maintaining patient valuables and filing of patient records in accordance with direction provided by supervisor and hospital instruction. Provide pick up, delivery and sorting of U.S. mail, messenger mail and other courier services for Western State Hospital and CCCA on alternate weeks.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school with related studies in accounting and or financial systems or equivalent training and experience indicating ability to perform functions of this position. Working knowledge of general office procedures. Demonstrated ability to accurately process and file documents in both manual and automated systems. Must be able to work in a team environment, multi-task and have the ability to work with the public. Must have experience in utilizing on-line systems, networks and software packages such as MS word and Excel in performance of task and duties. Have ability to sort mail in an accurate and timely manner, to be able to lift totes of mail and be able to operate light and medium duty vehicles in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications
General knowledge of mailroom operations and experience in serving the public a plus. Bi-lingual in Spanish and English are a plus.

Special Requirements

The applicant must have the ability to perform at the level of physical demands noted on the Employee Work Profile and the verified ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
