The person in this position serves as a liaison between Finance and key business functions with the client, with the purpose of providing effective operational and financial support to assigned business partners within the company, while actively participating in running the business. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: the coordination of the budgeting process, performing closings, variance analysis, reporting, ensuring the integrity of the information system, monitoring and improving procedures, and communicating issues to Senior Management in a timely manner. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Budget and Latest Estimate (LE) process:
- Coordinate the Annual and Latest Estimate budgeting process with assigned business groups and finance, insuring targets and timelines are met.
- Consolidate all financial information; analyze results, and present financials to key business partners.
- Demonstrate shared ownership in partnership with assigned business groups to comply with, meet or exceed budgetary commitments.
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of reports that will provide assigned business groups with meaningful information required to make decisions and effectively run the business.
- Take individual responsibility to assure business visibility and understanding in order to make and support management's strategic decision-making process.
- Lead the month/year-end closing processes for assigned business groups, performing P&L variance analysis, and completing required schedules.
- Complete and publish the monthly financial package specific to business groups and review key financial metrics with management members.
- Complete monthly year-to-go and sensitivity analysis based on year-to-date results and forecasts.
- Conduct monthly cost center reviews with assigned business groups to communicate year-to-date results and gain business insights.
- Partner with IT department to initiate, develop and implement key operating systems, procedures, and processes for business groups, as required.
- Develop executive summaries and relevant reporting for senior management; make well-thought-out recommendations based on review and analysis.
- Actively participate in developing business systems that will provide management with improved tools for managing the business.
Experience:
Preferred
- 1-3 years of Retail financial accounting experience
- Must have solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Proven understanding of processes & procedures
- Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with and advise assigned business groups to achieve desired results
