Position Summary:
We are seeking a Field Service Systems Technician for our Northern California territory. This position will be homed in the Sacramento, Californa area. On occasion you will be tasked with assisting team members in states outside of your assigned territories, and for training. You will be a quick‐ response, customer support team member, responsible for completing complex work orders and meeting critical deadlines. You will troubleshoot hardware/software equipment issues and will setup, install, configure, maintain, relocate, and / or repair a variety of electronic computing RFID and Fiber Optic communications equipment, software, and peripherals.
What We Want You to Do:
- Roadside hardware and software diagnosis and maintenance.
- Replace pole mounted equipment, and at times work with subcontracted contractors to achieve contract compliance.
- Perform bench maintenance and repair to sub‐assembly/component level equipment.
- Use a variety of specialized test equipment and diagnostic devices to identify and address issues.
- Troubleshoot related communication problems, e.g., in a LAN environment.
- Apply knowledge of wiring, standard cable connections and wire closets/MAUs, RFID fiber pulls, and terminating fiber.
Who You Are:
- A minimum of 2 years of service technician experience.
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time – NO REPORTING INTO AN OFFICE!
- High school diploma and one of the following: Technical training from a trade or vocational school; OR Associate degree in electrical or electronic technology; OR Military with electronics training or equivalent work experience.
- Motor Vehicle Reports is part of the background check process. Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Considerable client and end‐user interaction. Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively.
- Frequently work on ladders and lifts, or in confined spaces, with considerable climbing, bending, stooping, crawling, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Earn overtime pay by working extended and weekend hours.
- Able to use and have knowledge in the use of basic and specialized tools, ladders, hydraulic and electrical lifts.
