Field Service Engineer

Summary:
We are currently seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our organization. The ideal candidate will have a broad mix of electrical and mechanical skills in the areas of equipment installation and training, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance and customer service. The desired location for this position is in the eastern region of the United States with up to 80% of travel required to customer sites
Essential Job Functions of the Position:
- Customer facing onsite service and support to Advanced Semiconductor Test Division (AST) and their products
- Probe test system troubleshooting and installation on manual and automated probe test systems at customer site according to manufacturer’s specifications
- Consults with customer and manager for site preparation
- Studies manuals, schematics, and product specifications to determine proper installation procedures
- Provide operational, service, and software training to customers
- Consults with AST engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system design, operation, and maintenance
- Advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product improvements
- Reviews and contributes to the development of service and product documentation
- Travel throughout the Americas and Taiwan for service training and sales training events
- Travel to trade shows and technical conferences for probe system setup
- Working with customer to achieve timely test system sign-off using Acceptance Test Protocol documentation
- Completion of all paperwork to include customer visit reports, internal process development, cross functional projects and expense reports
- General customer support via email and phone
Employment Requirements:
- Work Experience: At least 1 year of related experience (preferred but not required); preferably in the semiconductor industry.
- Education: Associates degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Technical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Skills: Experience in troubleshooting and resolving problems on sophisticated equipment
- Computer literate, with experience using windows-based programs
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal ability to communicate across all levels of an organization and with individuals of various degrees of technical knowledge and ability.
- Ability to travel up to 80%, primarily within the Americas to include overnight stays
- Language ability: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Essential Abilities: Fast learner, Self-motivated, Team player, Self-starter, Problem solver, Works independently without supervision
- Employment Authorization: Authorized to work in the US without VISA sponsorship (Preferred).
Working Conditions:
- Job Type: Full time
- Hours: 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, Weekend and overnight work may be required based upon company needs.
- Travel: Requiring up to 80% travel. Weekend and overnight travel may be required based upon customer requirements and company needs.

- Physical Demands: Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, through the use of appropriate tools
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
