Key Responsibilities and Expectations:

We are looking for a talented Field Service/Electrical Technician to work both in shop and in the field. This position will play as a key role in performing industrial automation and controls projects for a wide variety of clients in across many industries.

  • Provides quality installation, inspections, and preventative maintenance on Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), servo controllers, DC drives programming.
  • Electronic repair on controls, motors, VFD’s, servo controllers, and may involve work in the field.
  • Read schematics, to test and modify the operational or developmental electrical control circuitry of equipment and machinery.
  • Use of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, single generators, soldering and de-soldering stations.
  • Identify components at board level and have reverse engineering and retrofitting skills.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs VFDs and other equipment
  • Completes and maintains all paperwork associated with service requests
  • Maintains a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazards
  • Conducts all activity in a safe manner by adhering to policies and procedure, such as, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and warranty
  • Must participate and successfully complete all training as required by the company
  • Training of technicians
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability and willingness to travel to job sites, do overnight travel, and work nights and weekends, as needed
  • Basic Understating of Electric Motors – Rotating equipment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Knowledge of electrical theory

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to 75 lbs. in weight
  • Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time
