The Suffolk County Water Authority is seeking a Field Operator for the Production Control Department located in Westhampton. Work schedule is 3:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. Friday - Tuesday (Wednesday/Thursday off).

Description:
Responsibilities include:
- Treating water and collecting water samples at pump stations.
- Inspecting and operating pump stations and maintaining pump station records.
- Lifting and carrying 50-pound lime bags, 45-pound chlorine containers, and steel cellar doors.
- Assisting in other physical capacities such as with grounds maintenance and mechanics.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- NYS Commercial Driver's License with Haz Mat endorsement required.
- Ability to obtain Grade IIB Water Treatment License.
- Ability to pass a pulmonary function test in order to use a respirator.
- Ability to pass basic mathematics knowledge exam.
Requirements:
- Suffolk County residency is preferred.
- COVID-19 Vaccination is required.
- DOT physical including a DOT drug screen.
- This position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing as required by the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991.
