Position Purpose:
The Utility Supervisor will be responsible for supervising employees who clean, fuel and check fluid levels for a fleet of diesel buses.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Directly oversees all daily activities of the Utility Department including supervision of all Utility Workers.
- Accounts for subordinate and personnel compliance with all Veolia's safety rules, policies and procedures.
- Monitor employee's performance of established procedures.
- Plans, organizes, and assigns daily work in Utility Department.
- Monitors performance of and efficiencies of the Utility Department.
- Hold daily tailgate meetings with Utility Workers.
- Perform Post Inspections on vehicles that have been detailed.
- Provide daily updates to Maintenance Manager and Client.
- Administer daily reports for the Utility Department.
- Responsible for maintaining the storage areas of spare parts and equipment.
- Other duties as needed.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Education/Experience/Background:
- The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a high school diploma (or GED equivalent).
- Some college preferred and at least three (3) years prior experience in a Maintenance environment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of Maintenance theories, principles, practices, and techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of the organization's functions, methods of operation, staff and operational departments.
- Competency to express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other managers and employees.
- Capacity to plan and supervise the work of subordinates.
- Must be dependable and have reliable transportation to work.
- Must be computer literate in word and excel and functional with the English language in both verbal and in written forms.
- Must be able to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and communicate at all times with professionalism and courtesy.
