We are looking for a dynamic Systems Application Scientist with strong Medical Device instrumentation background to join our team! The ideal candidate will be experienced with Hematology and Urinalysis (HEM and UA) laboratory equipment as well as general HEM/UA Clinical experience. This is an exciting career in Product Development within the Hematology/Urinalysis Verification and Validation Team. The primary responsibility will be to bring a wide range of application experience for product development, sustain activities, and system integration within the Research and Development organization.

The Systems Application Scientist will be a critical team member working cross-functionally on programs supporting Verification and Validation activities for both, Hematology and Urinalysis platforms.

Job Responsibilities

• Generate high quality protocols, reports, and other assigned deliverables as a dynamic contributor to project release teams. Understand development of User Needs, System Requirements, Risk Controls and Customer Workflows.
• Plan, execute, and participate instrument performance testing, design and conduct experiments accurately and independently.
• Review and update testing procedures, work instructions, and worksheet for correction or process improvements as needed. Lead investigations for failures during testing; perform troubleshooting and/or minor improvement activities.
• Ability to successfully work cross-functionally managing collaborations with multiple individuals, teams, and around the world. Generate and effectively communicate data to various multi-disciplinary teams.

Job Qualifications

• A minimum of a BS/BA degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics or related field with 4 years of experience or MS/degree with 2 years of experience
• Exceptional verbal and written communications skills. Ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders in a highly dynamic environment.
• Proven ability to read, analyze, and interpret product specifications, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Extensive experience writing protocols, reports, and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and cross functional project team members.
• A progressive, creative thinker with analytical and problem-solving skills and interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Basic statistics knowledge, including proficiency in the use of Excel for data analysis and presentation.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and driven. Must be able to perform routine laboratory tasks with minimal supervision.

Preferred

• Laboratory generalist experience with both hematology and/or UA instrumentation preferred.
• Experience with R&D, verification, validation, and/or human factors testing highly preferred.
