Applicants must have at a minimum a 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), and/or be a licenced PE. We are looking for a well-rounded individual with great project management skills and knowledge of Metallurgy, Heat Treatment processes, Metal working, and Computer literacy with extensive knowledge in CAD/CAM (Solidworks and MasterCAM). Muncy Industries supplies fittings for the wire rope & heavy lifting industries. The Engineer is key to the successful design, function, and production of product through the manufacturing sector and use in the field. Leadership ability, keen observation, attention to detail, enthusiasm, and goal orientation are all important ingredients of the Engineer’s job performance. The engineer will be responsible for established products as well as the design, development, and testing of new products. The Engineer shall design assigned products and processes of the Company, being sure to properly document all aspects of their design and calculations which are to remain on file. The engineer must be capable of taking an initial conceptual design and working through to completion of final product design and the implementation of manufacturing processes. Must understand hydraulics and have some experience with hydraulics. Some experience with fabrication and welding and instrumentation.

Must be able to work independently and in small groups to accomplish goals.

Work is to be performed primarily in office/factory setting, however must be capable of traveling to meet with customers and vendors as required.

Must be able to interface with customers over the phone or via email to develop new products or answer questions about existing products.

Skills

· Understanding of the metallurgy of carbon and alloy steel

· Technical aptitude with principals of metal working technology

· Leadership ability, organized planning skills, accuracy and attention to detail

· Proficiency with Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor, and a knowledge of current drafting standards

· Physical: Must be able to lift 25 Lbs repeatedly.
