Operations Agent

**Airline Experience Required**

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Coordinates the delivery of various aircraft service functions for airline customers while the aircraft is at the gate and determines proper aircraft load factors in conjunction with the airline operations

LOCATION:
John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)

FULL TIME: 1200AM – 0800AM

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have at least six (6) months of experience in aircraft ramp operations
High School Graduate or GED Equivalent
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean MVR
Able to read, write and speak the English language effectively
Successfully complete a ten (10) year background investigation including criminal history, FBI fingerprinting and pre-employment drug screening
Authorized to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigration Act of 1986
Acquire all required FAA, airport, and/or Customs identification, seals and authorizations.
Must work efficiently under pressure and able to operate various computer systems.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively before a diverse group of people.

Must be able to work extended hours on short notice during non-routine operations
Able to lift, push and pull 70 pounds (70 lbs) comfortably
Capable of climbing, bending, kneeling, crawling, and stooping often

Able to operate within expected timelines

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for maintaining a SAFE and SECURE ramp environment at all times
Assists ramp agents with ground handling duties as needed
Responsible for assembling all data relating to departure loads
Plan for efficient loading and unloading of dead load (bags, freight, mail, Comat, etc.)
Plan for special loads according to restrictions, maximum quantities, separation, and segregation requirements
Perform weight and balance pre-calculations taking into consideration center of gravity (CG) parameters in order to maximize fuel efficiency
Calculate and communicate estimated zero fuel weight and/or payload
Produce and distribute accurate loading instructions, flight plans, load sheets and fuel slips (where appropriate)
Produce, reproduce, and distribute appropriate documentation to Flight Crew personnel as well as communicate any pertinent information
Ensure the Flight Crew is aware of any hazardous materials loaded on the aircraft and proper paperwork is completed
Ensure that weight and balance conditions for all departures are correct and within limits as well as ensure aircraft are loaded in accordance with documented procedures
Produce and communicate offload documentation to destination stations, and post-departure messages to required addresses
Maintain and store load planning documents according to all regulatory and company requirements
Compliance of all Safety procedures as designated by the Air Carrier, Station, and other entities
Marshaling of all aircraft on the ramp including the directing, towing and parking of said aircraft
Ensuring proper use and maintenance of all ground service equipment (GSE)
Responsible for providing accurate and careful handling of passenger baggage and freight during aircraft upload, download and transport
Continued communication with Operations, Flight Crew, Passenger Service and other ground duties as assigned by supervisor
Other duties related to Weight and Balance; load planning functions as assigned
