PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE:

The Executive Director (ED), will develop & oversee best in class social & digital marketing programs to promote brand awareness and drive further consideration/conversion via social and digital marketing.

As a social & digital guru, the ED will make Estee Lauder a true social-first brand, ensuring that:

Estee Lauder brand wins in all key existing and new social channels, accelerating the brand’s the social selling model (increased frequency / better KPIs) and leveraging key findings, insights, and social trends to inform creative briefing for product launches, re-promotes, and occasions/festivals. The ED will lead and drive sustainable changes in global processes to source more contents outside of branded-led assets, test new agencies to support livestreams and develop more social contents for evergreen and cultural moments. This role will also lead the relationships with our global media & social media partners such as Google, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, maximizing their partnership to develop activations that best-fit the platforms and channels. The ED will oversee the whole social/new media team ensuring social / digital content is on-brand, innovative and timely.

Last but not least, the ED oversees - in cooperation with Customer Care team - the community management of our Global channels.


KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the strategy, planning and execution of 25+ programs a year on our Global social channels (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok) + cascade social media calendar, strategies and forward-facing initiatives and activations for upcoming seasons with cross-functional, regional and local teams.
  • Oversee social / new media team – including but not limited to ensuring content calendars are created, cross functional needs are represented on social, customer care integrations with community management,
  • Lead collaboration with Regional partners to streamline the social media practice across all regions, ensuring strategies, guidelines, best practices are shared so the Regions make strategic choices on their investment and platforms
  • Ensure EL brand is consistently, creatively and proactively engaging consumers, influencers and advocates across social media to drive brand conversations and advocacy.
  • Further accelerate our presence on Instagram (quality & frequency of contents, livestream, local roll-outs), further drive ReachxEngagement KPIs while increasing focus on conversion tactics

  • Rapidly accelerate our presence and play on TikTok – not through a brand account but rather from a paid advertising and influencers activations
  • Track beauty trends/news with momentum on social media and brainstorm with brand team new content ideas, reposts, retweets, regrams so brand is participating in relevant daily social media conversations.
  • Drive sustainable changes in global processes to
    • source more contents outside of branded-led assets, leveraging 3rd party influencers and EsteeTeams and maximizing UGC to develop consumer-centric assets.
    • test new agencies to support livestreams always-on (focus on IG)
    • develop more social contents for evergreen and cultural moments
  • Participate in the creative process for social media photography and video production, ensuring that content creation is based on social media analytics.
  • Manage social media analytics and work in partnership with Digital Analytics Director to strategize & formalize reporting for Global & regional channels

Core Competencies:

  • Deep knowledge of social media.
  • Consumer-driven approach to lead brand effort in putting consumers, influencers and advocates at the center of its social media strategy.
  • Understanding of how to create “social media-friendly (non-corporate) voice” in social media to build authentic, relevant, interactive consumer conversations and relationships.
  • Strong ability to interpret and translate global brand strategies and equity – as well as beauty and lifestyle trends - into daily social media / new media content.
  • Ability to navigate among multiple constituents, platforms and communities to ensure strategies/goals are understood and met.
  • Ability to interface with senior leaders in the organization in times of escalation inclusive of PM, PR, GCC, Legal and Brand President.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Strong quantitative skills.
  • Excellent judgment to drive optimal brand engagement in beauty/brand communities and identify/escalate potential issues/crises.
  • Pop culture savvy to identify trends and key influencers that we can target / follow within our social media outreach.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS

  • College Degree Required.
  • 8+ years experience with 5 years specifically in social media
  • Active daily life in online and social media
  • Branding/beauty/fashion/entertainment experience a must
  • Demonstrated communication skills
  • Leadership communication/presentations skills
  • Experience in managing full-time team members

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $147,000 to $252,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
