We currently have an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer in our Machining department. The primary function of this position is to be responsible for a wide variety of duties in the design and development of existing or new manufacturing processes, tooling, gauges, and/or fixtures for specific products or process types as assigned. Duties include development of process plans and instructions, design of tooling/fixtures/gauges, CNC programming, and other similar duties pertaining to process engineering.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
4 yr. Degree in Engineering with a focus on manufacturing engineering or equivalent working knowledge.
5-10 years of experience as an engineer.
Good understanding of CNC Programming, production techniques and processes.
Good tactical communication skill with vendors and subcontractors.
Extremely well organized and self-motivated and have ability to work without supervision.
Work under pressure with tight deadlines and maintain control even in emergencies.*_
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: _*
- Participate in the development and design of manufacturing processes.
- Analyze and interpret concepts, prints, various requests, customer requirements, etc. as applicable to processes.
- Develop programming for CNC machines; operate CAD system; etc. as may be assigned. Prepare all required reports.
- Develop and produce process plans, instructions for manufacturing modifications/enhancements to existing products/processes.
- Develop processes for new products, as may be assigned. Ensure processes will meet design specifications. Develop process documentation.
- Design tooling, fixturing and/or gauges required for new or modified products and processes.
- Develop process controls and/or engineering tests to ensure verifiable product quality.
- Confer with design engineering personnel to develop product/process enhancement ideas.
- Provide support for manufacturing operations. Troubleshoot process problems, analyzing situation and determining appropriate actions.
- Analyze on-going processes to develop and/or enhance efficiency and cost effectiveness. Make appropriate recommendations to management.
- Confer with production personnel to ensure new processes or process modifications are working properly. Provide training and answer technical questions for production personnel.
