EMS EDUCATOR Job at Shurmed Ems LLC
EMS Educator Reports to the Director of Clinical Education
Requirements include:
• Texas Advanced EMT or paramedic certification • Minimum 30 hours college, any discipline
- Minimum of six (6) years EMS experience
- Minimum of two (2) years progressive EMS training and education experience
- Texas State EMS Instructor certification.
Pay: • Hourly, non-exempt • $27 - $35/hour
- PTO as per company policy
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS include:
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry it at least 100 feet
- Able to climb and descend up to 100 feet of stairs
- Work conditions are frequently outdoors in inclement weather
The primary responsibility of the EMS Educator is to provide educational and training activities for both Company staff as well as the general public.
This includes but is not limited to:
- State and National certification courses such as EMR, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic.
- Conversion or bridge courses to enable Allied Health Care personnel to successfully operate in our EMS system.
- Accredited continuing education courses for our Company personnel.
- Certification courses recognized by professional organizations and NGO’s, such as CPR, ACLS, PHTLS, etc.
- Internal training specific to Company clinical practice needs.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:
1. Perform clinical competency evaluations of new hires and existing employees.
2. Teach remedial programs to assist employees in need of targeted review of skills and/or didactic knowledge.
3. Teach training or continuing education offerings driven by QA/QI findings.
4. Provide monthly accredited CE classes for Company personnel
5. Assist with field ALS care as needed.
6. Other duties as assigned
