JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Email Marketing Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day, hands-on execution of email marketing programs to support the business objectives of sales and lead generation. You are passionate about customer engagement. You are data-driven, with a creative mind that operates quickly and flawlessly. You are an organized self-starter with strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, driven to strengthen our email marketing strategies. This includes ownership of the setup, creation, maintenance, and review of corporate email communications. You are focused on improving email conversion and retention metrics.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Builds email campaigns, database selection, HTML presentation and quality assurance of all outbound campaigns
- Performs day-to-day email marketing activities including, but not limited to, email campaign set-up, scheduling, testing, tagging and deployment of one-time, recurring, triggered and dynamic content-driven campaigns
- Troubleshoots technical issues related to HTML templates, list segmentation and other aspects of email execution, as required
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to experiment and optimize landing pages and experiences with a focus on improving email conversion and retention metrics
- Staying abreast of and recommends email marketing best practices with coding, design and testing of email campaigns
- Develops and executes email marketing strategy for lead generation objectives
- Identifies and drives customer retention KPI’s and optimizes key metrics including CTR, open rates, conversions, and retention
- Leads email marketing initiatives including continual optimization of email marketing strategy, platform, and related processes to retain and monetize existing customers
- Leads email acquisition and strengthens our CRM strategy to capture key member information and leverage insights to move members through lifecycle
- Delivers reporting and insight that accurately and appropriately measures the performance of each email campaign on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to create and execute data-driven, dynamic email campaigns and deliver highly-targeted/segmented marketing campaigns, lifecycle emails, retention/reactivation programs, and loyalty building communications
- Have a creative eye for great design
- Create, deploy, and analyze SMS campaigns
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Business, Marketing, Computer Science, etc.)
- Familiar with and have developed automated email marketing programs including triggered, lifecycle, and dedicated emails
- Solid understanding of CAN-SPAM requirements, HTML, email design best practices, and inbox deliverability (ReturnPath)
- You have 5+ years of online and direct response marketing experience with demonstrated success in managing and executing high volume integrated email marketing programs
- Ability to troubleshoot coding problems
- Ability to write queries and define new audience types
- Good understanding of database concepts and segmentation
- Ability and desire to learn quickly
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction, while also functioning and contributing as part of a team
- Proactive, energetic personality; inquiring, investigative mind, collaborative
- Strong project management skills – goal oriented and collaborative skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and excellent presentations skills
- Marketing/Advertising background (Timeshare or travel industry a plus)
- Excellent organizational ability – detail oriented
- Strong web design skills
- Experience in developing responsive design emails
- Experience working in SSRS format a plus
- Expertise in HTML (HTML5 for responsive), CSS, Graphic Design(Adobe Photoshop), Excel
- GroupMail Software (or other delivery tools)
- Microsoft Excel
- Windows Server (mail ports, proxy, etc) settings
- Return Path (something similar) validation standards / compliance
- PHP / Javascript (for tracking, monitoring, and analysis)
- MS Visual Studio
