SSI needs to add an Electronics Technician Maintenance II to support our current list of services provided to the U.S. Navy. These positions, located at the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) in White Sands, New Mexico, will provide engineering, technical, logistics, and administrative support in the planning, maintenance, preparation, execution, launch operations and post-test phases to the W Department of the Navy Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD).

Primary Functions:

• Responsible for the electronics installation, maintenance and testing of a variety of launching systems and support equipment
• Ensure all electronic components are properly installed and correctly functioning.
• Review and comment on engineering design drawings for metal, cables, cable run sheets, system overviews, assembly procedures, and interconnect drawings.
• Document work according to standardized quality assurance (QA) process and be able to make process improvement suggestions.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections on equipment and to determine what maintenance is needed.
• Set up and testing various types of electronic equipment to determine equipment specifications and performance.

Education/Experience/Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electronic/electrical system maintenance and modification
• Requires HS Diploma or GED
• Must be able to deploy to both CONUS and OCONUS
• Must be capable maintaining physical condition to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be capable of regularly climbing extension ladders, tower ladders, stepladders and stairs.
• Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitively.
• Requires the ability to regularly kneel.
• Requires the ability to repetitively stretch or reach horizontal or vertically.
• Must be capable to walk extensively.
• Must be capable of differentiating colors pertaining to wire color coding.

CONTINGENT OFFER

This position is contingent upon contract award and is anticipated to start in May of 2023.

Must possess a valid driver’s license. U.S. Citizenship and must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance required for hire, and to be maintained throughout employment. All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
