Position Summary:
Kodak Moments division of Kodak Alaris is looking for a self-motivated, independent Electrical Engineer with a broad understanding and applied experience in Electrical Design, Product Safety, EMC Regulatory and Radio Compliance for Information Technology Equipment (ITE). In this role you will be responsible for the electrical design of our photo kiosk systems, coordinating and executing all regulatory related activities to obtain global approvals for new and existing products and interfacing with the corporate EH&S Manager to define new product and component churn regulatory requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide electrical design support for new and existing products
- Develop simple/non-complex electronic circuits. i.e. Tray Sensor Controller boards and sensors, power distribution, wire harnesses, etc.
- Develop technical electrical specifications for products
- Assist with prototype build and design evaluation, identifying improvement opportunities.
- Work with vendors and fabricators to specify requirements for new designs.
- Evaluate designs and assess for compliance with global regulations
- Provide compliance guidance and support to cross functional team from design concept to first article sample inspection.
- Performs internal Pre-Certification Product Safety and EMC assessments on new designs and replacement components to support early market release and agency testing.
- Perform and document technical reviews and gap assessments.
- Responsible to create and execute regulatory timeline activities without impacting new product launch or current manufacturing supply chain demand.
- Provide operational regulatory input and guidance in cross-functional teams. Works within and across regions to provide broad operational support to ensure the delivery of product team and business objectives.
- Manage and Operate internal Safety and EMC test labs and equipment to support pre-scan testing and resolution of non-compliance issues.
- Manage regulatory documentation repository and coordinate certificate and license renewals.
- Ensure KM products are compliant to new safety, electrical and radio directives prior to cessation.
- Work with component manufacturers and KA regional contacts to obtain current regulatory compliance documents. Obtain quotes, submit agency test plans and supporting technical information for new product and churn agency approvals.
- Prepare equipment for test and provide operational support at agency lab.
- Contribute toward the identification, development, and implementation of enhanced processes to improve regulatory efficiencies.
- Develop proficiency in worldwide regulatory requirements and establish and maintain good working relationships with agency personnel.
- Experience in the fields of Electronics, Electrical and Mechanical design.
- Experience with Electrical, Mechanical, Software Integration
- Mechanical skills including use of tools and Product Safety and EMC test equipment.
- Knowledgeable of current Product Safety, EMC, and Radio Standards for ITE equipment.
- Strong communication skills to support technical document creation and review (verbal and written).
- Ability to conduct research through the web and review of technical documentation
- Experience working with Schematic Capture and PCB board design tools
- Experience using Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and general Test Equipment
- Strong analytic skills for diagnostic investigation
- Knowledge of and experience designing for prototyping, low-mid volume component manufacturing and production assembly processes.
- Proficient computer skills, MS Office, Outlook, Internet, Data Repositories, etc.
- Ability to work effectively in an environment where priorities and requirements frequently change.
- Takes initiative and works with minimal guidance
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting and come up to speed quickly on new tasks.
- Strong time management skills/self-directed
- 5+ years’ experience in design of consumer or commercial products
- 5+ years’ experience in Regulatory Compliance
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
