Electrical Field Service Technician

Standard Crane & Hoist LLC is a very large and well-known electric overhead crane and hoist service company operating throughout Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas and Mississippi. We have an immediate opening for a qualified and experienced industrial electrician to work out of our West Monroe, LA location which covers all of North Louisiana. Applicants can be located anywhere from Monroe to Shreveport. The position requires a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working as an industrial electrician, and in particular requires experience working with electric motors and motor controls.

• The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and repairing motors, variable frequency drives, pendant and wireless controls, and electrical components. You must meet the 2 year minimum industrial electrician experience requirement in order to apply for this job. You must pass an electrical skills test in order to qualify for this job.

If you meet the qualifications, your job title will be Field Service Technician, and your duties will include:

• Troubleshooting and repairing electrical hoists in the field at customer locations.
• Providing information and support to our sales and service departments for the purpose of quoting repairs and modifications to customer equipment.
• Communicating with the office during the day via company-provided cell phone so that work can be scheduled and completed on a timely basis.
• Operating a company truck in order to make service calls in the field.
• Standard Crane will provide necessary skill training to maintain and advance your career as a field service technician

If you don't fully meet the electric motors and controls qualifications, you may be hired as an Apprentice Technician, and will be offered training in order to qualify a Field Service Technician. Your actual pay rate will depend on your skills and experience.

Successful field service technicians will:

• Work closely with sales and management personnel to insure that Standard Crane customers are totally satisfied with the services being performed.
• Be passionate about advancing their career while offering great customer service.

Fully qualified field service technicians:

• Will be assigned a take-home company vehicle and gas card.
• Must be physically and mentally able to operate a man lift, a fork lift, and work at heights.
• Must be able to communicate effectively via cell phone and text.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• Must be committed to maintaining a safety first mentality, and a work environment that follows the strict safety procedures of the company and its customers.
• Must have a safe driving (MVR) record and be drug free.

Standard Crane expects all technicians to work in a close team atmosphere with their fellow techs, and with sales and with management.

You are a great fit for our team if you have:

• A strong background in AC and DC electromechanical and solid state motor control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics (Able to troubleshoot without prints on occasion.)
• Willingness to work with gear boxes and drive systems at times.
• Ability to communicate well with others and work independently or as a team.
• Basic computer skills to learn to work with web-based equipment inspection programs.
• A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test (DISA).
• Must commit to working and driving safely at all times.
• A minimum of 2 years of prior industrial electric motor and control experience is required.
