Red Canyon Software is looking for Electrical Engineers of all levels to support multiple NASA programs. This will be a long-term (2+ year) contract position on the CU Boulder campus.! This will be a hybrid role, with 75% of the time worked on-site in Boulder, CO.
Looking for EE support in the following areas:
- Harnesses
- GSE (H/W and S/W)
- Embedded Design (H/W and S/W)
- Digital PWB design
- Digital FPGA (VHDL/Verilog) design
- Analog/Detector/Mechanism Control/Monitoring
- Low-noise, precision analog
- Power Conversion (LVPS/HVPS)
- Parts & Radiation Engineer
- Layout techniques and management
- Especially signal and power integrity, and mixed signal grounding methods
- EMI/EMC design methods and test procedures
- ESD mitigation, vacuum systems, thermal management
- Electrical test and design verification
- Analysis tools, common software tools, test integration software
- Workmanship standards required by NASA
- Experience with schematic design tools (OrCad, Allegro, Eagle, Altium).
- Experience with simulation tools (PSpice & LTSpice).
- Experience with layout tools (OrCad, Allegro, Eagle, Altium).
- Familiarity with spacecraft EMI/EMC requirements and testing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A willingness to mentor/teach.
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
- Knowledgeable in other engineering disciplines (systems, mechanical, flight software, thermal, optical).
- Experience leading design teams within an Integrated Product Team organizational structure.
Depending on the level and position, responsibilities would include:
- Leadership and oversight of a team of five to ten Electrical Engineers.
- Provide technical guidance and direction of the electrical design as the Electrical System subject matter expert.
- Collaborate with Instrument Systems Engineers on the development of electrical requirements and verification plans.
- Work closely with supply chain management on the procurement and subcontract of electrical parts, and components to ensure on time delivery.
- Actively monitor and control the Electrical design, development, manufacture and test of the Electrical system to maintain delivery within technical, cost and schedule constraints.
- Work closely with the Instrument Program Management as a member of the program leadership team.
- Provide monthly reports to the Program Management and LASP’s customer.
- Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and forecasting Control Account budgets, schedules, and performance measurements for Earned Value Management.
