Job Description

The SK Siltron CSS has a unique opportunity for an EHS Security Technician located in the Bay City, Mi area. The EHS Security Technician role will be part of the EH&S team supporting the SiC wafer businesses aligned to the SK group.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations related to Health and Safety, hazardous materials, waste materials, and air emissions.
  • Duties in this position will include the management and maintenance of the Security processes and protocols (Plant physical security, CFATS, Emergency response, Emergency response team, Emergency plan development, Immediate Response, etc.).
  • Ensures the implementation of a detailed, task level, day to day Security, Environmental, Safety and Health programs, utilizing Security and EH&S work processes, standards, and procedures.
  • With guidance from the EH&S Manager, ensures all plant needs are covered in the programs.
  • Will update and deliver employee Security, Environmental, Health and Safety training programs.
  • Initiates requests for change to the Site EH&S Manager to improve the best knowledge and experiences.
  • Ensures that the security, safety & health aspects of Operating Discipline are adequate and applied to achieve performance goals.
  • This role is expected to coach teams and individuals on Security and Safety related tasks and activities.
  • Develops and assists in developing and achieving area or plant Security, Environmental, Safety and Health goals.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance tasks are completed.
  • Performs / coordinates the Security and participates in Environmental, Safety and Health monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the Plant.
  • As required will participate in the Security, Environmental, Safety and Health related reviews and projects.
  • As required will conduct and document Security investigations of incidents and ensures follow up actions are created and implemented to prevent re-occurrences that are addressed.
  • Maintain and continually improve CSS security protocols, programs, documentation, and management systems.
  • Monitor and maintain site’s Security systems and Fire & Life Safety Systems
  • Direct company employees on appropriate actions in event of an emergency
  • Liaison with responding agencies during an emergency

Required & Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Associates Degree w/Security, Law Enforcement, Fire Science, Homeland Security, or Emergency Management emphasis preferable
  • Relevant military experience
  • Michigan Fire Fighter I & II Certification
  • State of Michigan Emergency Medical Responder or greater medical license
  • Hazardous Materials Technician or greater certification
  • HAZWOPER Certification
  • Minimum 2 years of Security and/or EH&S Experience
  • Able to work 2nd shift hours on a regular basis
