Job Description Summary

JOB SUMMARY

Leads the effort to support employee training and development needs of local employers and businesses including the college's full array of two-year degrees, workforce training, and customized contract training resources specifically in the Wetzel and Tyler County areas. This position is also responsible for coordinating noncredit programs on the New Martinsville campus and working with the Manager of Campus Operations.

NATURE OF WORK

Primarily working in Wetzel and Tyler counties, this position will work with potential students and business partners to support noncredit training and educational programs. This person will recruit instructors, schedule classes, support business partners and grant efforts. The coordinator will occasionally work evenings and weekends as needed

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to

Examples of Duties

Essential Functions

% TIME

Cultivate and maintain contacts with regional employers in collaboration with the Vice President of Workforce and Economic Development

Meet with potential students to provide noncredit education options for rapid advancement into the workforce

Work with local workforce investment boards, local city/community planning groups,and other economic development groups including attending meetings as appropriate

Work with employers to identify workforce training needs and develop customized solutions to address the needs including:
  • Assist employers in needs assessment
  • Assist employers in skills assessment of incubent workers and/or potential employees
  • Work with College Workforce staff and other appropriate offices to develop both non-credit and credit training programs.
  • Identify resources needed to implement programs including potential trainers and instructors
  • Work with Workforce staff and other appropriate offices to develop budgets and contracts for training programs

Evaluate program effectiveness and college appropriate data
