Plan both long and short-range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy.
Ability to establish and maintain a classroom culture
Strong verbal and written communication
Organized
Classroom management strategies
Meet the individual emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child
Being a resource for assistants to contribute to curriculum planning
Prepare monthly goal and activities charts
Complete quarterly assessment of children's development
Report progress of children to parents in quarterly reports and through transparent communication at parent-teacher conferences
Maintain daily open communication with parents and a welcoming environment
Keep accident reports
Maintain anecdotal records
Maintain confidentiality
Report any suspect abuse to the appropriate authorities and your Leadership team member/Director
Maintain a classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy
Maintain a safe and healthy environment in accordance with the health and safety policies
Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials
Attend in-service and staff meetings
Supervise assistants, aides and volunteers in the classroom
Keep all appropriate records such as children's records, attendance records and medication administration
Meet all applicable licensing regulations locally and federally
Participate in program assessments and contribute to the enhancement of your classroom
Experience and education requirement for a Teacher: are a bachelor?s or a master?s degree in Early Childhood or related field; and at one-year experience is preferred. Position requires CPR/First Aid and SUIDS/ABHT
