This is position will cover our two beautiful and mordern properties: Hyatt Centric Mountain View and Hilton Garden Inn Palo Alto.

Department Overview
The Catering and Events Department is responsible for the management of contracted groups and social event food/beverage and meeting room revenues and experiences, room block management, negotiation of supplier services. Ensuring event planner satisfaction while meeting and or exceeding department and individual revenue goals.
Position Statement
As an Event Manager you will be responsible for event documentation and coordination with Sales, hotel departments and customers to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout the pre-event, event, and post event phases of all hotel events. You will be required to ensure a seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales. Recognize opportunities to maximize revenue by upselling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events. Serve as the event planner primary contact following turnover from group sales managers on property. Ensure at conclusion of event an effort is made to rebook the business and turn back over to sales.
Position Summary
As a Team Member, your essential functions in this role include such things as:
- To organize, plan and prioritize your duties based on client specifications and needs.
- Timely communication to internal and external clients via telephone, email, written documents or in person.
- Demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, booking systems, menus, audio visual and processes.
- Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing and evaluating the issues and determine the best solution.
- Ensure high quality service by communicating and assisting others to understand the guest needs, providing direction and guidance, feedback and individual coaching when needed.
- Participate in customer site inspections.
- Posting event charges ensuring booking checks and charges are accurate in a timely manner.
- Collecting/securing payments and necessary deposits are secured
- Building posting master accounts
- Work closely with the Catering Manager from event turnover to completion in addition to Sales Coordinator
- Reports to Area Catering Manager
- Check function room setups prior to guest arrival. Ensuring all details are in accordance with client requirements and hotel standards.
- Other Duties as necessary based on business needs
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School Degree/GED
- Reliable Transportation Between Properties
- Flexible working hours to oversee events
- Minimum Years of Experience: one (1) year Hospitality related experience
- Management Experience: None
- Additional Requirements: 2% travel
