The Fishin’ Pig Waynesboro is looking to add to our restaurant family and bring in some new hungry talent. We have the finest from land and sea; savory, smoked meats and flavorful fresh seafood. Founded by Matt Hurley, Nash Osborn, Shorty Osborn, and Jim Osborn, The Fishin’ Pig is a southern culinary combination that will delight all the senses! It all started in Memphis, TN, in the BBQ capital of the world, where Matt Hurley was honing his skills on the banks of the Mississippi river. He then made the move to Virginia, opening Mulligans sports pub in Farmville. Missing the smell of the smoker, Matt founded Grady BBQ, named after his dad, in 2006. While he was bringing his Memphis-style expertise to the small town of Farmville, Shorty’s passion catchin’ and eatin’ fish led to the creation of Shorty’s Famous Seafood and Chicken Breading and the popular phrase “Catch and Release in the Grease”. As luck would have it, Nash and Jim joined the Mulligan family as bartenders, introducing the Fish to the Pig. The relationship went swimmingly and in October 2012 they decided to go whole hog and combine the two companies to make The Fishin’ Pig.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reports on-time and ready for work
- Maintain a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts dishes
- Keeps the dish area free of clutter and organized
- Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks
- Maintains clean/dry floors throughout the shift
- Properly washes, stacks, and stores plates, drinkware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers
- Changes water in Dish machine and sinks as required by business levels, and properly uses chemical solutions
- Maintains dust pans and trash cans throughout the shift and removes full trash bags and boxes at the end of the shift
- helps with maintaining the dry storage area and the organization of the storage shelves
- Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties
- Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the Kitchen Manager or the Manager In Charge as needed
Work Hours and Benefits;
As a busy fast casual restaurant,
- We are open weekends and most holidays
- Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- We can accommodate most flexible schedules
- Shift meals are available
Qualifications/Skills:
- Basic verbal communication skills

- Accuracy and speed in completing tasks

- Follows directions and instructions
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
