As Director Programs, Bombardier Defense, you are responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of Programs that encompasses capture, specification, design, development, test, certification, delivery and in service support activities. Programs will typically cover single year or multiyear projects.
In your role, you will:
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team of direct reports and matrix-managed colleagues from Programs, Engineering, Supply Chain, Strategy, Sales Support, Finance, and Legal.
- Recruit, develop and manage a highly functional multi-disciplinary team of Program Managers and Program Analysts, at multiple work locations (Canada and US).
- Create and nurture transparent, authentic, and effective communication within the organization through collaborative leadership.
- Define and implement a lean, agile governance across the Bombardier Defense portfolio ensuring compliance with Bombardier Polices and Procedures as well as individual program requirements.
- Oversee and manage the budget of multiple programs within the Bombardier Defense portfolio;
- Manage risks and issues and implement effective corrective actions across the Bombardier Defense portfolio;
- Establish individual Program objectives aligned with strategic objectives of Bombardier Defense.
- Ensure efficient use of all internal stakeholder resources across the Bombardier Defense portfolio;
- Manage stakeholders’ communication internally.
- Manage Customer relationships through regular effective Customer communications, program reviews and other engagements.

- You have bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering (or closely related field)
- You have 10+ years of aviation experience (or closely related field) with a thorough technical knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems and special mission equipment
- You have 5+ years of Customer facing experience
- You possess an advanced understanding of Bombardier’s aircraft development, certification and production process is required, as well as strong commercial and contractual skills are required.
- You are recognized for your exceptional leadership and communication abilities to harness the full potential of the organization
- You are recognized for being customer focused and having excellent Customer facing skills.
- You possess strong interpersonal and persuasion skills.
- You have excellent communication and negotiating skills combined with the ability to understand and interpret technical requirements, financial statements, contractual terms and conditions.
- You have the ability to work flexible, extended and/or irregular working hours, together with an ability to travel in line with business demands;
- You possess a thorough knowledge of Bombardier's policies and processes;
- You have working knowledge of Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- You are eligible for Canadian Controlled Goods Program clearance (where appropriate)
- You are eligible for security clearance of up to SECRET (where appropriate)
- You have a Pilot license and general knowledge of aircraft operations in a Government / Military environment (Asset)
- You are able to fluently communicate in English and French (verbal & written) (Asset)
