The Opportunity
Our Zulily corporate headquarters is in Seattle, WA. You will report to the Director of Performance Marketing and this role is available for remote work in the following states: WA, OH, NV, PA, TX, NC, GA, NJ, VA and FL
We are looking for a Director of Paid Acquisition to develop our user acquisition strategy from Brand Media, Connected TV (CTV) , Linear, Digital Audio, Out-of-home (OOH), and Print to more direct response channels such as Paid Social, Programmatic Display, Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and more. You will expand our full funnel acquisition strategy to bring in more customers and introduce them to the newly rebranded Zulily. You'll grow a team while collaborating with the Brand, Creative, Analytics and Martech teams to shape the future of our acquisition strategy for a $1B ecommerce business.

The performance marketing team drives new customer acquisition and engages moms through the channels they use the most. You'll manage the marketing budget to ensure we hit our Cost Per Acquisition (CPA) and Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) while balancing upper and mid-funnel goals (impressions, traffic, and brand awareness). Your contributions ensure we have the right mechanisms to measure performance and that our media planning, buying, and budgeting meet our goals. You will manage a mix of agencies, ad partners and platforms, and lead the internal team of 5-6 paid acquisition marketers with diverse disciplines. Reporting to the Director of Performance Marketing, this is a leadership role with visibility to executives in Finance, Merchandising, Brand, and Technology and with our CEO.
Your Impact
- Partner with our Marketing Technology and Marketing Analytics teams to design best practices for optimizing ad campaigns to grow, and work with our Creative and Brand teams to develop upper funnel ad strategies that raise Zulily brand awareness and improves lower funnel conversion and Lifetime Value (LTV)
- Evaluate appropriate tools and platforms, and maximize tools and features offered by partner platforms, to enrich channel optimization and execution.
- Monitor important metrics and budgets to ensure channel health and LTV
- Identify opportunities to diversify our acquisition strategy by launching and testing new channels and media types
- Mentor and encourage your team to develop a test and learn roadmap for channels and campaigns and use a data-driven approach to make decisions, while incorporating our leadership principles into your daily interactions
- Govern annual planning, forecasts, and budgets in partnership with Finance and provide regular updates on performance and roadmaps to the executive team
What You Bring
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience managing B2C marketing at scale that involve driving performance to quantitative measurements
- Minimum of 5 years of building teams, managing direct reports and developing leaders
- Bachelor's Degree, or MBA, in Marketing or Analytics
- Demonstrated domain knowledge in paid social (TikTok, Facebook, Instagram), programmatic display (The Trade Desk, Google Display Network), and brand media (Linear TV, Print, OOH)
- Proficiency in MS excel (can perform complex functions), foundational exposure to Structured Query Language and the ability to work with large datasets
- Expertise in test & learn strategies intended to guide marketing performance
- Influence and partnership with our teams and executive leadership
